Tutorial: TokenSolutions Mirror Tilt Module- Lexus IS300

Product Description

Give your vehicle a useful function synonymous with high end luxury cars. This module simplifies driving in reverse and parallel parking by automatically lowering the passenger side mirror when the vehicle is in reverse. With the mirror tilted down it is possible to see curbs and debris before striking them!

The module is very intuitive and has two modes you can set depending on how frequently you want the system to work and how to bypass the function if the situation arises. The module also employs a time delay to prevent the mirror from “see-sawing”- repeatedly going up and down – during parrallel parking. The distance it travels for both down and up are use end adjustable.

Applications:

Supported applications. 2001-2004 Lexus IS 300, IS 200 and Toyota Altezza manual and automatic, 2005 to 2007 Scion tC manual and automatic and 2001-2004 Toyota Tacoma (2nd gen coming soon), 2007+ Toyota Yaris manual and automatic.

The Deluxe version (comes with two units that controls both passenger and driver’s side mirrors) is compatible with all vehicle models supported above, but are available with instructions for the Scion tC, Lexus IS300 and Toyota Yaris. (do not purchase if you have the original mirror tilt module for the Scion tC, please contact for pricing)

** Deluxe version comes with two modules for seperate control of both driver and passenger side mirrors.

This set of instructions is not the greatest, I will be editing it with updates and how to install the deluxe system of two modules (all wiring except one wire done inside the door).

Remove the drivers side kick panel.

Wire the Module's Red constant power wire to the load side of the rear bottom 2nd up fuse (15 amp) in the fuse panel.

Wire the Module's Yellow switched power wire to the load side of the middle column 3rd up fuse (15 amp).

If using the fuse points instead of the wire points in the update post, please use the "add a circuits" as pictured at the bottom of the post.

Wire the module's Black wire to chassis ground.

Wire the Module's purple wire to the red/black wire located past the fuse panel in the bottom (3rd down) harness. This is a difficult harness to pull out, I T-tapped the wire (the red tap in the above picture, the blue one in the bottom picture), but it is HIGHLY recommended to solder all connections.

Locate the harness behind the kick panel that is nearest to you, towards the bottom
Image

-- The following OE wires are cut, not tapped---

Unplug this harness and wire the Blue module wire to the lower (towards harness) pink/black wire.

Wire the module's Green wire to the upper pink/black wire.

Wire the module's Brown wire to the lower blue/yellow wire.

Wire the module's Orange wire to the upper blue/yellow wire.

Mount the module to be easily accessed to tune the mirror, or tune the mirror first and mount the module behind the kick panel.

More pictures and alternate wires for ground can be updated upon request.

Deluxe install where both modules are within the door trim-- still didn't have the photo equipment so the cell phone pics will have to do.

Take the window and mirror control panel that is in the door off, to do this without breaking a tab take the front off first, then the side clips, and slide the unit forward to take it completely off--
Image

Then all the way off-- The large void in the door is where both modules will be stored.

Take both harnesses off so that you can set the switch panel aside.

The larger harness is going to provide the full time 12vdc, the switched 12vdc and ground. In the following picture the wires mentioned are facing the camera--

Tap the Red/Yellow wire near the clip for full time 12vdc, tap the Blue/Red wire near the large blue wire for switched power (both modules will tap into these wires- it is ok to parallel like this).
Image

Tap the thick White/Black wire for ground--
Image

For the mirror wires you will use the other smaller harness (harness pictured earlier showing the void within the door). You will wire one of them (module) per the earlier instructions as the color code is the same. The other module will parallel it's Green and Blue wires along with the first module (tap in the same place), but it's Orange and Brown wire will be used to separate the PINK/Green wire--- Orange switch side (wire heading towards the end of harness that attaches to switch), Brown mirror side (wiring going off into the door).

Remove the door panel and snake one of the module's purple wire through the passage grommet to the driver's side kick panel. Tap the Red/Black wire in the earlier tutorial towards the back of the kick panel.

Parallel the other module's purple wire to the purple wire that had been fished into the cabin.

Proceed to tune the tilt modules to desired heights. This is a lengthy process and it is recommended to become familiar with the directions and to park where no one, thing or the car is in danger from accidental car movement while selecting park and reverse during this process.

If desired tilt and return is becoming too difficult to tune, it is recommended that the 2nd feature be used where the mirrors tilt when selecting reverse twice within the small window of time as to reduce the frequency of the tilt feature and the resulting loss of calibration.

** Both modules can also be located in the driver's kick panel area but one of the module's Orange and Brown wires will have to be fished into the door to the Mirror Toggle Switch harness.
