TokenSolutions Free-be DIY-- FAN MOD

When auto-crossing, the old adage "run your heater to help cool the motor" just didn't cut it for me.

Moving bumper to bumper in the staging line just like a long line at a stop sign or a good ole' day on the 405, its a horrible feeling knowing your water jacket and coolant system is becoming saturated with heat, even if you have an upgraded system. The thought of then ripping on the car for another minute plus with a saturated system even more nagging.

"Cool charge" your coolant system by running your electric fans, and on their "high" speed at that.

Find the relay box on the driver's side that is above the ECU, near the OE fuel pump resistor. As pictured remove the bolts, lift the box and then gently 'pop' the top off of the bottom plate, done right this can done without breaking anything.

Then locate one of the many light blue w/ black stripe wires.

Tap any one of them and run that wire to a switch in your cabin. Wire the switches other terminal to ground. Configure it so that the switch is a normally open switch, and when closed grounds that OE blue/black wire.

When closed to ground, your fans will now run at "high" speed, "charge cooling" your coolant, getting you ready for that autocross beat-down and good for cooling down after the run.

Enjoy.

Combine with a high quality life time warrantied Mizu radiator for even better cooling abilities (found here http://www.tokensolutions.net/products/Mizu-Radiator%252d-Lexus-IS300%2C-83%252d87-Corolla.html), especially if the car is modded and needs to shed even more BTUs.
